I foster dogs. I foster lots of dogs - labs, pugs, bichons, several creatures of as yet to be determined heritage. For the most part, they are perfectly agreeable dogs who have gotten lost in the system, and through no fault of their own, ended up without humans of their own to tend to them.
I […]

We were on voluntary evacuation today, so we were packed and ready to go, but a few hours ago they lifted that. For now, we are safe, and hopefully that will continue. I am grateful to still be in my home tonight, and so sorry for the many Southern Californians that are not going to […]

My city is on fire, again. It is scary, but since we did this four years ago during the Cedar Fires, it seems we are a bit more organized, and know what will be needed. I’g glad to see focus on people’s pets, where to take them if you’re evacuated, understanding that our dogs, cats, […]

A bumper sticker that said “I love my kids whether they are honor students or not” - why don’t you just put “My kids drool in public and only turn to the left” on your car? Cause now we know they’re stupid, thanks for advertising it, mom…………

I, as your dog trainer, am obliged to tell you that the ONLY reason you have to send me an *urgent* voicemail is MAYBE that you won’t be home for our appointment in 20 minutes because your kid just broke his arm and you are headed to Emergency Room, RIGHT NOW! Ok, I’ll give you […]

On Friday when Karma got her teeth cleaned, Lacey went in too and was to have a dental and get spayed. Doc found a heart murmur during the initial exam so they did not do anything, as it was enough to warrant another exam with an ultrasound of her heart. Apparently Persians die pretty easily […]

Poor, sad, pathetic Karma had a dental on Friday. She had to have a molar pulled and the anesthetic really threw her for a loop. She is the queen of sad. I’ve never seen a more tragic dog coming out of the vet. She’s fine now, but she needed some serious cuddling this weekend.

It’s so hard to be a kitten - notice how much work they are doing being cute…..
First is little Lilly, who is the teeniest and a fireball, then is Willow, who just bats her baby blues to get whatever she wants, and then baby Briq, who just yells at me all day long for no […]

On a trip to Wal-Mart - I found this lovely cool thing for my kitties to romp on but of course - it had to be assembled. So we started here:
My kittens, being ever so helpful creatures, moved things, chewed on paper, explored the empty box, stole important pieces and ran off with them.
As the […]

is Redwood’s birthday. Of course, she’s been gone for four years now, but I doubt October 13th will ever go by without me feeling a little twinge and thinking about my girl. I’d love to post a picture of her to share, but she lived before my digital age. She is all over my other […]
