My city is on fire, again. It is scary, but since we did this four years ago during the Cedar Fires, it seems we are a bit more organized, and know what will be needed. I’g glad to see focus on people’s pets, where to take them if you’re evacuated, understanding that our dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and everything else that we love and tend to on a daily basis are one of our top priorities.
I went to school, thinking my house was probably fine, and they sent us all home at 3pm and cancelled classes for tomorrow. I have put us on lists to help with displaced dogs, cats, and their owners, but now we are potentially in the path of the fire. We will watch closely as all that is between us and the fire is a whole lot of dry canyon. I’m terrified to think that the canyon I love so well may get burned. I am literally sick to my stomach to see all the homes that have been lost, and hoping for my homes safety. This is currently very scary - it doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon. Good luck, southern California - we’re all going to need it.
