Dog Training….Unraveled

Family pics by the fire

This is where we have spent most of our vacation - in front of the fire! Warm and toasty! I would have to say, the best part of winter is having a good excuse to stay in and lounge by the fire, cause it’s too darn cold to go out and do anything else! Once we run the dogs down then we all come in and crash. So here are this year’s holiday family pics. My lovelies and my mom’s dogs. JB who is Jester’s younger brother by six months - ya, figure that out - and Teak’s half sister Piper, who is about a year younger. JB and Jester are both cranky old men, Jester just turned ten in September, and JB’s birthday is in March. Teak is such a naughty girl that my mom loved her and wanted one “just like her.” So, I got with the lady who owned Teak’s mom and we found a lovely male, and low and behold, Teak’s mama is a strong breeder and all her girls and little and naughty and all her boys are big and dopey! So mom has Teak, only a slightly sweeter version. Piper is a whiz at agility, but unlike Teak actually thinks on the course. She’s fast and getting faster, but gets upset if she’s makes mistakes. Teak just barrels through each obstacle and will do it over and over again until she gets it right. Teak’s biggest handicap on the agility course is her handler! Also, Karma always looks sad like this in pics - she hasn’t figured out how to smile for the camera yet, she really isn’t that traumatized.

The following pics are of all of them hoping against hope that someone, anyone will drop a piece of the holiday ham on the floor. Which would have surely caused a riot. Don’t they all look so convincingly sweet and innocent?

It’s been fun getting all of them together. My dogs just tromple in and play with toys and Teak is just desperate to get Piper to play with her. JB is a bit put out with all these dumb dogs at his house, and Piper just really doesn’t know what to make of all the idiocy. She’s a little worried about Teak and definitely scared of Dyson. Piper is ok with Karma and likes to chase her, but of course Karma is the most non-offensive dog in the world. Here’s my wonderful pug line up - makes me want to get three of four more of my own! From left to right, Teak, Jester, JB, and Piper - aren’t they cute?

Lastly, a great shot of our beloved boys actually touching each other, I think they were trying to avoid their cootie infested sisters.
