While I am thrilled that more and more people are training their dogs, and I’ve always thought that there was plenty of room for more dog trainers in the world - I have to question the educations of all these newbies in the field. Found this great article on the tremendous influx of new dog trainers out there. The numbers are truly staggering. Welcome all, but I wonder how long they’ll last once they realize that training dogs is about training people, not really about dogs.
I am truly starting to feel like a crusty old timer, wandering around muttering to myself “young whipper snappers think they know it all.” I can see it now, in another 5 years we’ll have a whole new group of burned out, angry dog trainers grumping about non compliant owners. Hehe.
