I'm always thrilled when people actually ask, BEFORE approaching, if they can meet our dog. Not "touch", or "pet", but "meet." I think, "Now here's someone that understands what's really going on." It really doesn't help, though, that our little ditz loves nothing more in life than meeting new people whenever she possibly can. :( Be as cranky as you want to be!
